Apple End of March quarterly results Got an iPod, learn a language
May 06

We’re having our May meeting on Monday the 19th.

The venue is Windsor Lawn Tennis Club which is located on Windsor Avenue in Belfast. There’s plenty of parking and you enter in through the main doors and come to the downstairs meeting room. It’s quite exposed and not large but we need to get an idea of the numbers before we book the bigger room upstairs. We’ll definitely have tables, WiFi and seats. Mac-Sys did buy a Projector we can borrow as well. The meeting will starts at 7 pm and we’ll aim to finish up at 9 pm. The format is still very fast and loose. We still want volunteers to give demos. The turnout will be the best gauge of success!

Agenda

  • A General Hello
  • Demo of Roxio Toast 9 plus a competition
  • Macs for Photography - a demo of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom from Ian Moran of Konnexion.
  • Xcake - a meeting held on 2nd April about being a Mac programmer
  • Apple Stores in Belfast update. End of the summer?
  • Questions? Ideas? Wrap-up

Special thanks to Victor for arranging this and we’d remind everyone that this meeting is on the 19th!

We’re intending all future meetings to be on the third Monday of every month. All at Windsor Lawn Tennis Club.

Demo Details

Special Thanks to Ian (ianm on the discussions) for volunteering for this demo. Photography is no longer the remit of the specialist and the professional but also the amateur and the prosumer. Cameras have come down in price and increased in features.

Photoshop Lightroom

XCake - started as a splinter group from Belfast Open Coffee, they had their first meeting on 2nd April, for the appreciation of XCode (the development environment for Mac OS X) and Cake (the delicious kind). Hopefully someone from the group will be able to turn up and give a precis.

Roxio Toast - I was sent a copy of Roxio Toast 9 for demonstration purposes. We have to give a demo, take photos and send the photos to Roxio in return for the chance to win several copies of Toast for user group members.
