Due to BarCampBelfast this weekend (Saturday) and Belfast OpenCoffee on 3rd July, we’re going to SKIP the NiMUG meeting for June.
Come along to one of the other meetings and say Hi!

If the monthly NIMUG meeting is going to be cancelled could it be done in sufficient time for the word to get around. Perhaps any cancellation or other change could be posted as a separate item for greater visibility.
Personally I feel the best way to advise of meetings (or their last minute cancellation) is by email, hardly a difficult task for a group whose very existence is based on an interest in computing. Doing this would almost certainly increase attendance at meetings. I am willing to help in any way.

Hi Victor,
I can’t advocate the emailing of over 200 people with this sort of information.
Everyone should use the web site to keep track of things - especially as you can get an RSS feed straight into Mail.
In Safari - click the RSS icon in the location bar. This will then launch your default RSS reader. You can set this to be Mail or Safari or use any number of third party applications. By using Mail, you get the updates from the RSS feeds that you like straight into your email.

Matt
If my recollection is correct the problem the last time was that everybody got an email every time that anything was posted on the forum.
I would agree that we certainly don’t want that to happen again. What I was suggesting was a reminder email once a month with an agenda. Anybody who wished to opt out could be removed from the email list and I am quite happy to administer such a group emailing if asked. I am sorry I didn’t make myself clearer initially.
I agree that everyone should go to NIMUG for the latest news but the reality is that in a lot of cases they don’t. If we want to encourage a regular and increasing attendance at meetings then I think we have got to be more proactive.

Will there be a NIMUG meeting on Monday evening, 21st July, at Windsor Lawn Tennis Club?

I guess not.

I’m trying to arrange a demo but getting married in two weeks so absolutely chockablock!
Worth having even without a demo?

Well I’ve only ever attended two of these meetings but without an agenda it would seem pointless to have it this Monday ?
Congratulations BTW !
