Jan 15

Due to a conflict with MobileMondayBelfast, we’re postponing the January meeting for a week and it’ll be on the 26th (the fourth Monday). We’re still looking out for any demo that can be prepped in time.

Agenda

  • CrossOver Office- Simon Whittaker to give a demo using Crossover Office on the mac to get outlook/project 2000 etc in a Windows office. He has been a Mac user for about 5 years and uses a MacBook Pro for work and a G4 PowerBook for home. He works as the Infrastructure & Hosting Manager for a local company where they use predominantly Windows XP workstations and Windows 2003 servers. He says he loves “the ease of use, stability & security of my mac and have found ways over the years to make my experience of working in a windows environment much easier which I would like to share with others. I am also a strong believer in using open source software where possible and practical.”

Oct 14

The date is the 20th October. Doors will be open from 7 pm with the first half hour being chat.

The venue is Windsor Lawn Tennis Club which is located on Windsor Avenue in Belfast. There’s plenty of parking and you enter in through the main doors and come to the downstairs meeting room. It’s quite exposed and not large but we need to get an idea of the numbers before we book the bigger room upstairs. We’ll definitely have tables, WiFi and seats. Mac-Sys did buy a Projector we can borrow as well. The meeting will starts at 7 pm and we’ll aim to finish up at 9 pm. The format is still very fast and loose. We still want volunteers to give demos. The turnout will be the best gauge of success!

Agenda
