QUOTE (drakeguild @ 02-04-2008 07:10)
That was quite intense, but I got through to the next round. She asked me technical stuff about the OS and hardware troubleshooting etc, was rather nervous. I have to meet the glasgow manager in Belfast in a few weeks then if that goes well I have to go to London for 8 weeks of Apple training. There will be around 5 mac geniuses in total. She said possibly end of summer for opening but it could be later than that and she cannot give a precise date.
A bit more on this.
Firstly the interview is in 2 stages, first is checking your suitability for the position, why you want to work for apple and checking your career. Just a chat, then if you pass that you get about 20 technical questions.
The questions are lifted straight from a certification exam and should be quite easy to anyone who is thinking about becoming an Apple Genius. I would even go as far as to say you should get near 100% on them.
(What does CPU stand for, questions on trouble shooting, etc)
Passing that entitles you to an interview with Glasgow manager, and if he wants you, you get a 1 or 2 week training course in London where they certify you.
All fairly reasonable, and it sounds like it could be a competitive salary too.

You didn’t ask what the salary was? that’s a bit schoolboy. (Matt, think double what i was on)
As for the questions, they are all multiple choice, or sort them into the correct order. Apple want you to diagnose in one way - so once you know that they are fairly easy.
only question i didn’t get was the new “sharing” users in leopard - i hadn’t even noticed they existed.

So, anyone got an offer yet?
I shall not be working for Apple, but the results seem to be out……

Got offered it, but declined, I was always starting a Software position in July, just in it for the craic.
The guy didn’t like my career progression question either!
